I used Paint tool SAI. You can download it free from here ~ [http://sai.detstwo.com/sai/] it's free for 30 days but you could also buy it.
Always remember to click on linework so it shows up with layer 1 so it's easier for you to paint with.
Using the curve tool on paint tool SAI is so much easier than other programs. To end a line you double click and to make a curve you click once.
To edit the curves you hold onto CTRL and drag the curve you want to edit.
When you have finished doing the linework you start the painting!
Before you paint click LAYER 1 on the side first.
It's okay if you go messy because you could always erase it afterwards.
I also sped this up a bit so I didn't draw this fast 0.0

Btw, you don't have to draw the girl I did. Do whatever you want. To get better at it keep practicing, it helps...a lot.
I used One Direction font. Boom.
