Instead of buying into the whole OLED TV hype at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, Sony decided to create their own breed of television that they claim is superior to anything else seen before. It's called Crystal LED, also referred to as self-emitting LED technology, that takes every pixel on the screen and mounts it to the front of the television, allowing 6 million LEDs -- 2 million red, 2 million blue, and 2 million green -- to be individually controlled. This results in 1 and half times the colour gamut, 3 and half times the contrast, and 10 times faster motion. Blacks and whites are now crisper and clearer in both light and dark environments, delivering colour reproduction that's never been seen before. And the 180-degree viewing angle ensures that every seat in the house is the best one.
