Welcome to the iPhone Space Monkey app. In this video we will cover basic functionality and navigation to help you get the most out of your app.
This is how your app will look when youÛªve completed your setup and started your initial photo upload.
There are four main options in the app; the "Photos" view, "Files" view, ÛÏSettingsÛ view, and ÛÏHelpÛ. You can open this menu by tapping the three lines at the bottom left or swiping across the screen anywhere.
Photos
Let's start with the "Photos" view. Photos is a great place to view and share any photo youÛªve ever taken. If you have auto-save turned on then any photo you take will be automatically saved here. If you see a cloud icon on your photo it means that it is awaiting upload, the spinner means it is currently being uploaded. All these other photos are already safely stored on your Space Monkey and accessible from any internet-connected device.
Tap the squares at the bottom right to change how big or small the thumbnails appear. You can also see that your photos are arranged by date, with orange markers to tell you when a new month begins. You can filter which photos are visible in the filter menu. Such as which device the photo was uploaded from, or whether it is a photo or video.
When youÛªre done filtering, if you want to select a photo you can either long-press on it, or hit the checkbox button and then select the photo or photos you want. Hit the x to deselect.
One youÛªve selected the photo or photos you want, you can delete them from your Space Monkey or share them as part of a ÛÏGallery.Û
Files
Now, let's go to the files view. In this view, you can You can navigate through and view all the files on your Space Monkey.
Add a new folder or upload an individual file from your phone by tapping here.
Your photos from the photo view are in the camera uploads directory but it is best not to edit any of these file names because it can change how they appear in the photos view.
Select a file to delete, share, move or rename individual files, or move multiple files. You can also select entire folders.
Settings
Now letÛªs go to the settings. In the settings screen, you can turn off auto upload, or you can elect to turn uploads over cellular data on or off. You can also turn on or off background uploads, which uses location data to allow photo uploads even when the app is in the background.
Help
Lastly, if you ever get stuck or need help, send us an email using the ÛÏhelpÛ button in the main menu.
