Robonaut 2 (R2) is an anthropomorphic robot designed to assist astronauts aboard the ISS. It was launched on February 26, 2011 in the Discovery space shuttle as part of NASA's mission STS-133. Robonaut features advanced machine vision capabilities including two Prosilica GC digital cameras from Allied Vision Technologies for stereoscopic vision.
