As it is a low impact exercise, it is ideal for people who have knee problems.
Once you get used to it for a few minutes, you should try to do at least for half an hour every day. That is equivalent to climbing twenty flights of stairs every day!,
As you increase the speed, you can achieve 30/35 flights of stairs every day.
If you have severe knee problems, Initially it may prove easier to make a pad only one or two inches thick and then gradually increase the thickness.
Many people have found that doing knee stretching exercises for ten minutes before doing the stepper exercise makes for a pain free experience.
