In this video, SugarCRM Product Manager Drew McDaniel will show you the record create workflow in the new Quotes module in Sugar 7.9.
In the new Sugar 7.9 Quotes module, creating a quote record differs slightly from creating a record in other modules, like Accounts or Contacts. In most modules, Sugar opens a drawer when you create a new record. When you save the record, the drawer closes, and you’re taken back to the page you came from.
When you create a quote in Sugar 7.9 you’ll be taken to a new custom-built page specifically designed for creating quotes. If you change your mind, and decide to cancel the new quote, Sugar will take you back to the page you came from.
Just like other modules, there’s a set of required fields that need to be filled out including quote subject, valid until date, and billing account name. When you’re ready to save your new quote, Sugar will take you to the quote in record view so that you can continue to make changes or export a PDF to send to your customer. Links to the related account and opportunity are available in the quote, so it’s easy to navigate to those linked records.
