The Sunbird is a lasercut kit from HobbyKing, this is its first (good) flight.
Although it is lightweight and fragile on the ground in the air it performs very well!
The flight before this went wrong: the wing came off in mid-air. The motor broke and the esc was burned... I replaced them and made a different wing-mount. For safety reasons I put some rubber bands around the fuselage and wings, and cockpit cap this time... But it can fly without the rubber bands. The cockpit cap has a rubber band inside the fuselage and the wings are screwed on with the small aluminum plate.
The C20 brushless motor with 7.5x4 prop gives enough power, only full throttle at the start, not more than 40% the rest of the flight. Maybe it can fly much faster than this, I didn't test it, next time... This time I was practicing starts and landings and see how it flies.
I screwed a plexiglas self-made landing-rail on the bottom of the fuselage, it functioned very well!
Flying weight is 620 gram with a 1500mah 3s lipo.
