HSBC marked its 150th anniversary last year with a sale of commemorative HKD150 banknotes in Hong Kong, raising USD61 million for local charities.
One beneficiary is Castle Peak Hospital, the city's oldest psychiatric hospital. It will use the funds to create a museum aimed at promoting well-being and removing the stigma of mental illness in Hong Kong. Two former patients opened up to HSBC NOW about their experience with depression and schizophrenia and the challenges of living with mental illness.
