Just received my new FRSky Taranis Plus; here's a brief video tour of the new LCD/Backlight and a quick peek inside.
Sorry for the VGA video; my old Sony Point-N-Shoot camera was the only thing I could get to focus properly on the LCD. None of my "Full HD" action-cams will focus on anything less than a foot or two away.
Contrast is much better, though still not as good as my 9XR; the blacks just aren't as black. Splash screen & graphics are still a bit fuzzy; graphics in the firmware still haven't been optimized for the new display; but text-only Menu screens are hugely improved.
With Blue & White backlights on simultaneously, brightness is also much better; a pleasant sky-blue color.
But even with contrast turned up to 40, NO BLEEDING! JOY!!!
I hope that when this firmware is optimized for the new display, we may be able to get text with a blacker black; it has already been promised that graphics will be much improved.
I am in love with my Taranis again!
