The Best and Worst Alcohol for Weight Loss
Can you drink alcohol and lose weight?
One of the biggest challenges that I have seen with my clients and my students on Udemy is that drinking is holding them back from losing weight. Now I'm not going to be one of those trainers who forbids you from drinking for life, because I know that is completely unreasonable. That's like saying no brownies and ice cream or pizza again, ever!
I couldn't do that to you! I couldn't do that to myself.
Here's the thing about drinking and weight loss though, there are some drinks that are going to hurt you more than others. For instance, margaritas and other drinks with really sugary mixers are not going to be your best friends when it comes to losing weight.
Though beer is super filling and can be relatively low in calories, the vast majority of beers have a ton of carbohydrates, wich are not going to help you when it comes to weight loss and losing stubborn belly fat.
White wine is relatively low in calories and is naturally gluten free, but is much more sugary than red wine.
Here's a brief list of some of the WORST drinks for weight loss
-Margaritas
-White Russians
-Alcohol slushies and smoothies
-Certain types of Martinis
-Anything mixed with an energy drink
-Most drinks that are mixed with full calorie sodas
-Some Martinis
-Beer
And here are some of the best drinks
-Dry red wine
-Whiskey
-Bourbon
-Tequila
-Mixers: Diet soda, diet soda water, diet tonic water
