My second documentarian style blog, that is my longest video blog to date, calculating at one-hour and five minutes. The topic of this blog is on the Star Wars: Expanded Universe. I first try to define what the Star Wars EU is, then I give a detailed overview of the stories and themes that have consisted throughout the seven-epochs of established history of the Star Wars universe. Then I examine the reasons for the controversial decision by Lucasfilm in their recent statement on their official position being taken on the canonicity of the Star Wars EU. I then examine how the same controversial position on the nature of canonicity was dealt with in other science fiction franchises. Then I conclude by giving my personal opinion on how I have decided to view the canonicity of the Star Wars EU, while offering a potential harmonious bridge that fellow Star Wars fans can embrace in order to enjoy the best-of-both-worlds, with the official Star Wars canon and the non-canonical Expanded Universe of Star Wars: Legends.
