** NEW FIRMWARE ADDS RF POWER METER **
SWR sweeper
The Sweeper is very easy to use and works from 100kHz to 150MHz. Just set start & stop frequencies and double click the * button to start sweeping. TenaTesta plots 150 points of forward (blue), reflected (red) and SWR (yellow) data on the colour display. When completed, it reports the very first frequency with the lowest SWR. A small gap between start and stop frequencies gives the most resolution.
Sweep data
TeanTesta shows up as a serial port when plugged into the USB port of most Linux, Mac or Windows PC's. When sweeping, the 150 points of sweep data is output at 115,200 baud in standard CSV format (Frequency, FWD, REV, SWR). Capture this data with any terminal program and use your favourite spread sheet application to create custom charts!
SWR trim & measure
With trim and measure, tuning your favourite antenna has never been easier! In the generator screen, select 4mA drive and the desired frequency. Turn the generator on, connect the antenna and measure the SWR. As you trim (or add), SWR is instantly updated!
RF generator
The RF generator tunes from 100kHz to 150MHz in 100Hz with 4 selectable output levels. The output is a square wave which is rich in useful harmonics to well over 1GHz. To take advantage of this, the display shows harmonics up to the 7th along with wavelength down to 1/8th λ. Harmonics and wavelength dynamically update as frequency is changed.
RF power meter
Wideband RF power measurement is a new feature. It accepts levels from about -14dBm to just over 2dBm. Reading is an arbitrary ADC voltage (not dBm) and works well past 500MHz.
Arduino sketch & circuit available
Arduino is the popular open-source electronics prototyping platform intended for designers and hobbyists. The TenaTesta source code and schematics are available for personal, non commercial use when you purchase one.
Save your settings & calibration
The calibrations screen allows you to adjust the reference clock. A simple way to do this is by zero beating the TenaTesta generator against a time signal like WWV on 10MHz. To permanently save sweeper start and stop frequencies, calibration and RF generator frequency, hold the * button down until 'To menu..' is displayed, press and hold * again until 'Saving...' is displayed. Now default setting & calibration are saved and will be recalled each time you power up TenaTesta.
Micro USB powered
TenaTesta is powered directly from its micro USB port and draws up to about 90mA. So a single cell 18650 2000mAh power bank will last a long time!
