From the video first video I took, I could tell that the dynamic range of the Hero 6 is a huge improvement over the Hero 5 Black, especially when using GoPro color. There is more detail in the highlights and shadows. We've come a long way from the days where the sky would be white in GoPro videos because of poor dynamic range.
t's quite impressive how the shadows still retain detail while the bright lights are not overexposed. Previously, an image like this would require using flat color, probably full manual exposure and a lot of luck. The Hero 6 was able to produce the video quality shown above with everything set to auto except for the shutter set to 1/60.
