So it happened that Mr Derrick Tan called me the other day and asked whether I wan to try out some new props from HQ and it was simply too hard to turn down the offer.
The HQ 5x4.5x3 felt much stiffer than the old 5x4x3 so I'm guessing they will give more top end punch as there is less chance for them to flex. Changing from 5x4x3 to 5x4.5x3 without touching the rest of the setup, I found it hard to fly and maintain a good altitude because they give me much more thrust than my old props combination. And of course more top end speed too thanks to the 4.5" pitch now.
My power combo is 2300kv and LittleBee 20A, and I think the props are really pushing my setup to the limit, with massive amp draw hahahaha. Though this new Bullnose triblades are pulling some serious amps, the ESCs are doing fine and even came down barely warm. So yeah, I got to test these ESC a little more too. They can stand high current pretty well (rated 20A constant, 30A burst for 10 seconds)
More in-depth will come soon, when I have more time to test them out thoroughly. Now my hope is that HQ would come up with another version of this, 5x4.5x3 NON-Bullnose so it would be less punishing for us all while we can still have the top end speed there. But then again, I never flew more than 70-75% throttle in this video.
