I left in the morning...not knowing where I was going, just that I wanted to film and hopefully, just hopefully catch a nice sunrise. As I drove it dawned on me, the trestle. I had been there once before, way down below. In the winter on a sled by the frozen river. I knew the tracks would lead me back though I did not know how far it was. The train comes in the afternoon, I think. It was a crisp fall morning a degree above zero. I walked, each step hands getting colder, fingers getting numb. "You should have brought a gun", I thought. At one point I turned back, knowing how far I'd come and no bridge in sight. You've come this far, and cant be much further, I pushed on. Finally I rounded the last corner, it opened up and before me and there stood this beautiful landscape. As if a gift from God the sun was just peering above the horizon and through the fog, good timing. Again, the train comes in the afternoon I think... One flight, fingers completely numb now. The Fog has lifted, perfect timing, another now. Grateful for this moment.
