Here's my 75% sized Twins Cargo airplane converted to a tilt-rotor quadcopter VTOL! It's running a Nanowii board, 12amp escs and 24g motors. The wii code is v2.2 with custom edits for throttle pass-thru in forward flight and orientation changes due to the board being mounted upside down. Everything is direct soldered for a clean installation - no cable mess! Check out some more info here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=24953733&postcount=140
UPDATE:
Thanks for all the comments folks! The maiden flight could not have been better! The VTOL flew so well that I proceeded to fly it another 6 times! I made minor adjustments and added some ideas to get it flying better in all modes. STOL capabilities were impressive, and really cool. The airplane also glides well and flies like a dream. I'll be out flying it tomorrow too - I'm addicted to the VTOL stuff... :-)
