** 2015 Heartland EMMY Award Winner for Informational/Instructional Segment **
In 2014, the Denver Police Department conducted a trial of body cameras with it's officers. That 6 month pilot project was part of a grant from Taser International in partnership with a study by Cambridge University, which will be the first of its kind for a major metropolitan city.
In January 2016, DPD began equipping it's officers with body cameras. When the roll out is complete, more than 800 Denver Police Officers will be wearing the cameras.
