The Heart shape has become almost traditional in the tiny world of homopolar motors. Here, two unique wire-form hearts show some surprising twists, then unite to become one in the final embrace!
There are actually four examples of homopolar motors in this video, including one with the apparatus upside down!
The homopolar motor works by the Lorentz principle. Current flowing through the copper wire makes a magnetic field, which interacts with the magnetic field of the neodymium magnet, producing torque on the wire.

However, the entire soundtrack was stripped from this video in August 2010 by WMG, (Warner Music Group)...three years after the video was put on Youtube! I won the battle, but it took two years to get the music back on this video.
I was told that Warner Music has a policy to remove all music worldwide that they believe they have the rights to. WMG has absolutely no rights to this music. They have refused to pay me for the lost ad revenue they took. (nice folks, eh?)
In December of 2017, I again encountered WMG claiming copyright to this video!! I recently sent off a notice to dispute, and in no uncertain terms explained to Youtube that WMG was making an unlawful and unfair claim. Amazingly, within days the WMG claim was overturned by Youtube, and as of Feb 1 2018, all my rights to this video have been restored!
