Today I wake up early to take a ferry from Long Island, through Casco Bay, to Portland. I start out my day by getting breakfast at The Holy Donut, which is famous for using a little bit of mashed Maine potatoes in it's dough. Then we walk over to the Eastern Promenade and walk along the water, enjoying the blue skies and wonderful weather. After that we hop in the car and drive down to Cape Elizabeth to check out the most popular lighthouse in Maine, The Portland Head Light. This lighthouse sits in Fort Williams Park, which used to be a large active military base so I explore around checking out some of the abandoned structures in the park. Then we head down to The Lobster Shack to get a lobster roll and enjoy the view over the water. After scarfing down the delicious lobstah roll, I head back to Portland to walk around the Old Port and then grab a few beers at Gritty's, Maines Original Brew Pub before heading back to my little cottage on Long Island.
