The inhibitory effects of twelve essential oils were screened against three gram positive bacteria and three gram negative bacteria using the disk diffusion method. Of the twelve undiluted essential oils screened, five oils were selected for further testing using the broth microdilution method based on their ability to inhibit the bacterial growth for all six of the tested bacteria.
