There will be a total lunar eclipse on the Wednesday, the 31st of January, 2018 beginning at 10:51 a.m. UTC. It will be visible in much of the world, but the best viewing will be in locations in or near the Pacific Ocean region.
Countries that will be able to view the entire eclipse will include much of Russia and China, Mongolia, parts of Southeast Asia, Japan, almost all of Australia, New Zealand, Alaska (USA), the Western part of Canada and many Pacific islands and nations.
Many other countries will have a partial view of the eclipse, meaning the eclipse will begin before the moon rises or finish after the moon sets.
Locations that will not be able to view any part of the eclipse include most of Africa, most of South America and Western Europe.
