Do you know where your dog is at all times? Does your dog stay in your yard or does your dog roam? How far does he go? When did he leave? Where is he now? These questions can be answered by the Marco Polo Pet Monitoring and Tracking Device.
When your dog goes out of your set boundaries, the tracking device sounds an alarm. This is your cue to call him home and put him in a secured area.
You can use this as a tool to help you begin to teach your dog to respect your property boundaries. However, you must not depend on the monitoring device to do the training. You must "set up" your dog. Put him outside when you're home and wait for the alarm to go off. When he sets off the alarm, your response can be as mild as simply fetching him and putting him in his kennel or escape-proof area. Over time, he'll get the idea that leaving your property means less liberty, not more. But to accomplish this, you must be 100% consistent. And you must also consider the breed. Some breeds, like hounds and bird dogs may not be able to resist temptation of setting out on an adventure. Other breeds are more content to be "home-bodies." Home-bodies are easier to teach to honor an "imaginary" boundary.
We will offer suggestions for using the Marco Polo Monitoring and Tracking Device for dog training in a future video. Check in with or SUBSCRIBE to our K9 Nook channel.
Unique features of Marco Polo:
* Marco Polo can help locate your pet within a 2 mile range of your pet tracking monitor.
* There are no monthly fees.
* It uses neither GPS nor cell phone signals, therefore it can be used in remote locations.
* Unlike GPS tracking devices, Marco Polo will locate your pet with an accuracy of just a couple of inches.
For those of us over 50, there's a wonderful non-pet related application. Have you ever lost your car in a parking lot? Leave a Marco Polo "Tag" in your glove box! Have you ever spent ten minutes -- especially when you're in a hurry-- looking for your purse? Stash a "tag" in your purse. Or, if you are a hunter or horseback rider, and you have to leave "your ride" parked or tied to a tree somewhere so you can go catch a deer or hunt a morel (mushroom), you may suddenly look up to find that... your "ride" is... "somewhere." Where did you leave it??? If you've attached a Marco Polo tag to your saddle or your handlebars, then it won't take you long to find your way back.
