Video of the train wreck/derailment and the subsequent fireball. I happened to be at Amazement Square for a meeting when it happened. We had just sat down to start talking when we heard the noise and looked out the window. I could see train cars flipped over .25 mile down the track. But as I walked to the window I could see the real damage: A massive fireball and column of smoke coming from train cars filled with crude oil that had rolled into the river and caught fire. I immediately ran outside and began capturing this footage outside the Depot Grille building. The officials pushed us back up the hill when they arrived, after that I got video and photos from a nearby parking deck until my phone battery died.
**Comments are now disabled. If you think I was crazy for getting video of this, you're right! As is anyone who jumps out of airplanes, bungie jumps, works with wild animals, or any of a myriad of other thrill-seeking activities that could get them killed. How do you think video like this ever gets on the news? Someone has to film it!
