Winter tire fun with Traxxas Mini E-Revo 1/16 VXL. These are the 2015 edition of homemade studded / spike winter tires with roughly 80 pcs of stainless steel screws per tire. These tires provide quite nice grip.
Driving on a frozen lake and as you can see there was some icy snow on top and a lot of animal tracks. But see the last minute of the video where I try to do the same with 2.2" Trencher tires: it was very slippery. By the way, I use to drive my rc boat in the same place in summer. :)
But please note that this kind of tires should NOT be made or used, unless you really know what you are doing. Screws there are really sharp and may come loose when running the car. I was wearing safety glasses while shooting the video.
