Trip to the secret place Atlantis IBIZA
Atlantis no es ni una playa ni una cala como la que estamos acostumbrados a ver en las costas mediterraneas, se trata de un lugar mágico y único en Ibiza.
Buena parte de la magia de Atlantis se debe a sus extrañas formaciones rocosas provocadas por la mano del hombre, que extrajeron buena parte del marés que forman las murallas de de Dalt Vila del siglo XVI. Todos los cortes en la roca, la mayoría de en forma diagonal, han creado unas extrañas estructuras en las que caminar es tan divertido como mágico, ya que estar en Atlantis es lo más parecido a estar en un sueño.
Atlantis is geen strand of een inham zoals we gewend aan de Middellandse Zee, het is een unieke en magische (verborgen) plek op Ibiza.
Een groot deel van de magie van Atlantis is te wijten aan zijn vreemde rotsformaties veroorzaakt door de hand van de mens, die een groot deel van de zandsteen die de muren van Dalt Vila XVI eeuw vormen zijn verwijderd. Alle inkepingen op de rots, de meeste diagonaal, hebben een aantal vreemde structuren waar het op lopen nergens zo leuk als magisch als in Atlantis is. Het is als in een droom.
Atlantis is not a beach or a cove as we are used to seeing on the Mediterranean coast, it is a unique and magical (hidden) place in Ibiza.
Much of the magic of Atlantis is due to its strange rock formations caused by the hand of man, which removed much of the sandstone that form the walls of Dalt Vila XVI century. All cuts in the rock, most diagonally, have created some strange structures where walking is as fun as magical as being in Atlantis is the closest thing to being in a dream.
So it must have thought the hippies who came to Ibiza in the 50s and 60s, who chose this site as a place of worship and rest. Since then the rocks have been decorated with carved figures of fish, Buddhas and calls for peace.
Also in Atlantis is one of the few points of Ibiza in which it is still possible to observe the presence of hippies: a cave with a Buddha figure half way down to the sea and under a large rock just above the main platform of Atlantis are the usual places of meeting of hippies.
