Made the switch from 5.8ghz to 1.3ghz, and from 72mhz to a 433mhz LRS for control. seems like I made the right choice although I'm finding the noise floor for 1.3 to be a lot higher than 5.8 which was clean as a whistle where I flew.
Dragonlink V2, readymade 1.3 SAW receiver and 400 mw vtx. IB Crazy VAS 5 turn Helical on receiver, Circular Wireless Skew Planar on vtx.
Looks like the Easystar is now the limiting factor with its 2500mah 3 s battery for "fuel" Dragonlink was working good, flown on the low power setting.
Don't have a second video out so had to record the monitor image with my iPod! Was flying with my right thumb only as left hand held the recorder :) Sorry I shut the iPod off around 9200 as I was wanting to adjust the antenna a bit for better signal.
Was nervous when I turned around at 9400 as I realized I was flying back against the wind this time and would use more power on the return trip. Made it back with battery to spare.
