Tumbleweed is a 1946 Piper J3 "Cub", owned and operated by Vanessa Jump Nelson. Tumbleweed was purchased in 1969 by Vanessa's father, Harry Jump, a hot-dogger who loved to have fun. Before the restoration began in 2005, Tumbleweed had sat on a shelf in pieces for over a decade. By the summer of 2010, Tumbleweed had been returned to its original Cub Yellow, and a Continental O-200 engine and 18 gallon wing tank were added, along with float fittings, just in case. Vanessa has since been keeping Tumbleweed in the air as much as possible, including a trip to Oshkosh to join in the Piper Cub 75th Anniversary celebration.
