Today I will be showing you how to make a rolled beeswax candle.
The one I am showing you how to make will measure 4 inches in diameter and will burn for 40 to 50 hours.
The beeswax sheets which I use start of as a standard size of 13 7/8 inches x 8 inches. To find out where to buy beeswax sheets, contact your local beekeeper and he will be able to point you in the right direction.
You can make any shape for your candle, just by cutting the wax sheets before you start to roll. To make a tapered one, cut sheet on a slant. Always remember to use the correct wick size so that your candle will burn properly. The rule to follow is that the wick should be one size smaller than the diameter of your candle. So for a 2" candles, use a 1.75" wick. For the candle in this video, I use a 4" wick as the final candle will have a diameter of just over 4".
Beeswax candles are natural, sootless and chemical free. They burn slowly with a bright flame and are said to relieve stress!
