Typical base station installation of a VHF unity gain, omni directional antenna. Even though this vid shows a mountain top tower, the same principals could be applied at home bases. The weatherproofing appears over the top, but in reality, its just enough. the elements are brutal to cable connections. Do it right the first time and you don't have to fix it later.
