Exploring an abandoned Tuberculosis Sanatorium built in 1912. The place closed in 1960 and reopened a few years later as a mental and physical developmental center before closing for good in 1995. It sits in rural New York in a tiny town of 400 residents. It was once thought that seclusion from the bustling city and fresh country air would cure tuberculosis. Today we know that is bullshit and this hospital was no more than a place people were sent to die an agonizing death. Thousands upon thousands of people died here and I'm not sure that anyone knows the total number of deaths. This place is massive. I have also visited Waverly Hills Sanatorium in the past and in comparison the hospital pictured in this video makes Waverly Hills look tiny. Keep in mind over 6,000 people died at Waverly Hills...
