This is the maiden of the Chimera HD from Video Aerial Systems. This adds to the original Chimera with a thicker, wider mid section, deeper bay and added sweep in the wings. The result is more stable flight, ability to run large 4s batteries without the need for modification and a much easier hit on CG with the additional sweep - no more nose weight needed. It's super smooth, as expected. The video is boring, but it's just meant to serve as a peak of the flight characteristics. It took me full elevator and all the way down to 17 mph until it finally stalled. Recovery was simple once airspeed was built back up, although I didn't have enough height to be doing stall testing, so I cleaned my pants out after nearly screwing myself into the forest, as you'll see.
Shot with a gopro 4 black in 2.7 - 60. The lens was completely fogged after landing, so I don't know how I got any video at all...
I'm running my typical Chimera setup of:
- 3542 SK3 1250 kV with a 10x5 APC
- 100A Red Brick
- Vector Flight Controller
- Dragon Link UHF
- 22.5g Blue Bird Servo's
- 1.3 video with an LHCP Airblade and a Pepperbox / Airblade diversity on the ground with Eagle Eyes.
- Flight Cam: RunCam Skyplus (PZ0420 in a magnesium case)
- HD Cam: GoPro 4 Black shooting in 2.7k 60 fps
