Earl Mills is small so he is a natural for the cramped ball-turret. Today he is 100 pct disabled from a chronic nervous condition from the war. In this piece of his hour long interview with ME3TV.org - he talks about a particular raid over Germany. This a part of a Veteran History Project with the Library of Congress. It is now2017. I regret I never updated the information here.He died about 7 or 8 years ago and his loving family let me know. His full video interview included some much worse things happening to him than you see in this. His mental condition caused him to eat away at the hair and then the skin of his hands and arms. But maybe the most memorable exchange was when he talked to me on the phone after I asked in a newspaper article for veterans to contact me. He called and in the conversation said "You HAVE to do this soon! We are dying like FLIES out here !" ... He did not let the pain of his sad journey take away some of the humor. A MEMORABLE hero ! God Rest His Soul.
