I have documented the start of building an ultra large format camera. It is intended to accommodate a film size up to 14' and a focal length of up to one meter. I haven't started thinking about making film holders or even chosen a process, but I am sure I'm not paying five hundred dollars for an 11x14 double dark slide even though it will be a thousand dollars labor to produce something comparable. I will most likely start on paper negatives but hope to move to something more portrait practical. If you know anything about the original use of the Carl Zeiss jena Apo Tessar 1:9 f=60cm I would appreciate your comment as I have not been able to research this specific lens.
