This film shows the customer benefit of getting extra time behind the steering wheel when the car itself is supervising the drive. It describes the complete system solution for the Drive Me cars, including multiple radars, cameras, a laser and ultrasonic sensors, a network of computers processes the information generating a real-time map of moving and stationary objects in the environment. Precise positioning is based on surround information, high-performance GPS and a cloud-based 3D digital map. Volvo Cars will put 100 self-driving cars on public roads around the city of Gothenburg in Sweden. This is part of the autonomous driving pilot project "Drive Me – self-driving cars for sustainable mobility".
