Can your faucet tell you when you're wasting water? In the first episode of Deconstructing IoT, we use Temboo to build a simple prototype for monitoring water waste. Sensor information is collected and logged to a Google Spreadsheet by the TI CC3200 LaunchPad, then is used to trigger a ticket in Zendesk.

The potentiometer is used to determine how far the faucet is open. The average maximum flow of a kitchen water faucet is around 2 gallons of water per minute. If the angle and duration of the potentiometer position are known, the amount of water flow can be approximated.
The sensor data is sent to a Google Spreadsheet using the Google Spreadsheet AppendRow Choreo. Generate code for the Google Spreadsheet Choreo here:

A threshold can be set to call the Zendesk Tickets CreateTicket Choreo when excess water use is determined or when the faucet handle position is open for an extended period of time. Generate code for the Zendesk Tickets CreateTicket Choreo here:
