A Simmons automated railway wheel press machine cell in a heavy haul railway wheel set maintenance facility. This cell contains a Simmons SMP-200 200-Ton Pre-Mount and Mount Press plus a variety of automated material handling systems. It pre-mounts and then mounts a wheel set after whatever relevant operations have taken place elsewhere in the maintenance facility (measurement, wheel re-profiling, wheel boring, axle reclaiming). Once mounted, the wheel set will be transferred to the bearing mount machine cell.
