Where to get married in Netherlands?
Future spouses can choose between three formal legal agreements in the Netherlands: a marriage, a registered partnership, and a cohabitation agreement.
To get married in Netherlands, the marriage needs to be solemnized by the Registrar of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Registered Partnerships in a municipal population affairs office. At least one of the partners must be a Dutch national or resident.
Public notice of an intended marriage must be given at least two weeks in advance. The marriage agreement in the Netherlands is concluded in general community of property which means that spouses share all property and debts.
Future spouses who do not wish to get married, can conclude a registered partnership agreement.
