We Make Makers is starting a non-profit based in Birmingham, Alabama. We are transforming a retired UPS truck into a mobile Maker space designed from the ground up for kids. By teaming up with STE(A)M Truck and Community Guilds of Georgia we will get to use their tested and data-proven curriculum to teach kids about science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math.
We are also going to teach the kids trade skills such as woodworking, metalworking, leatherworking, papercraft, handicraft, and others.
They will have access to a 3D scanner, 3D printer, laser cutter, CNC mill, as well as various power and hand tools.
Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where we can develop creative confidence, complex problem-solving, and community through Making.
