A Witcher 3 walkthrough providing a real tutorial on how to play the mini-game Gwent. In the video I cover all of the basics that you need to know in order to get started. EDIT:
I wanted to make a quick correction to my comments about using a card with the Medic ability in the first round. It is possible to have a discard pile in round one if your opponent uses a card with the Scorch ability or the actual Scorch card itself. However, specifically with the Northern realms deck, I caution you in doing this in the first round unless you are going for a first round win and have ability to Decoy it off the board and play it again in the following round to pull another card out of the first round's discards. EDIT: Just an FYI, they added banners to ever card now. So the neutral cards will always show the banner of the deck faction you're looking at. I know it's minor, but I figured I'd mention it anyways.
