Most people who know me know that I'm a huge fan of The Police. In fact, I credit Stewart Copeland for sparking my interest in becoming a drummer. One of my favorite songs by them is the 1983 single, 'Wrapped Around Your Finger'. Written by Sting and included on the album 'Synchronicity', the song refers to being under the control of another person but in the end turns the tables in favor of the servant. Sting is known for using Greek Mythology in his lyrics and for anyone who's familiar with this song, the name 'Mephistopheles' is another name for The Devil.
Born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, he was given the nickname 'Sting' after performing one night on stage wearing a black and yellow striped sweater that made him look like a bumble bee. The son of a milkman, he became an English Professor prior to joining The Police.
This is my rendition of 'Wrapped Around Your Finger' in instrumental form. I always felt this song was somewhat sad and made me feel as if two people were parting forever. With that said, I thought it would be appropriate to give it a somber, Spanish-Latin feel. Please enjoy my version of this classic Police song and feel free to download it or any of the other songs on this website for free.
