The Zed camera is a newer Stereo video camera. The tech is cool, but has some drawbacks. I do not recommend using with windows 8.1 as of Zed API version 9.3 as the camera input kept glitching for me and I could not get usable data at all. In fact, I almost contacted stereolabs because I thought the hardware arrived damaged before I installed on linux.
One draw back on linux, is I still experience lags or frame skipping. Maybe this will improve overtime as all of the stereo processing and calibration is within the software.
